Hello Nova Scotia Eventers
Currently, I am living in Kingston, ON while working towards my Master's degree in Physiotherapy. I spent the past spring and summer working with Lorraine Laframboise and competing my horse, Odie. Odie is a 15 year old Morgan/TB cross. He is 15.3 and was born in Ardoise, Nova Scotia at Henniger's farm. While living in Nova Scotia, I trained and boarded with Susan Fraser in Canning and am now boarding at Glen Lawrence Equestrian Centre in Kingston.
This year I moved up to the intermediate division which was exciting but challenging. My first intermediate event was Headwaters in Orangeville. The event proved to be disappointing as I got eliminated at a skinny off of a bank. I had already paid to go to Stuart Horse Trials in Victor, NY, and couldn't get a refund so I decided to go.
Stuart is the closest intermediate event to Kingston. The course was impressive and definitely the biggest course I jumped all year. That's not a great feeling when it's only your second intermediate and you didn't get around the first one. I was clear on the cross country with time faults. I had struggled with the show jumping, which was a theme through out the summer, but got around.
I also went to GMHA in Vermont, which went well, but an unfortunate trip at a skinny fence caused a run out and kept me from placing. The following weekend I went to Grandview in Orillia. I had a good run and placed middle of the pack. My final event was Plantation Fields in Unionville, PA, where I was clean and fast and won the intermediate rider division. My finish at Plantation was a great way to end the season. Next year I am looking forward to Bromont CIC** in June and Radnor in October.
