HTNS2007 NS Trails Calendar
Let's go equestrian enthusiasts!!!!!!!!!!! This is our chance to get some exposure in the beautiful NS Trails calendar for 2007! Encourage all riders, walkers, leaders, followers, groomers, mucker-outers, horse lovers etc. etc. etc. to take their cameras with them any time they are out on the trails (*** where permitted ***) and snap! snap! snap! In a previous calendar, the equestrian family was represented with not only a page in the calendar, but also the cover!!!!!!!! The picture was taken during the winter months and showed two of our local riders (from the Eastern Shore I believe – I will confirm for you if you would like) enjoying the trails on a snowy day. Riders were all bundled up in their winter woolies and the horses sported their warm winter coats and fuzzy ears!!! It would be great to see our sport promoted and encouraged in the 2007 Trails Calendar. If at all possible, it would be great to see a note in an upcoming issue of the NSEF newsletter requesting pics which may be suitable for the calendar. We must make note that the equestrians are reminded that they must first have prior permission to be on any lands which they are traveling on.
Unfortunately, there are no 'horsey' pictures in the upcoming 2006 calendar. However, I have received a copy of the new edition and it is stunning with magnificent photography (from both volunteers and professionals). The selection showcases various trail photos providing regional representation while including a number of trail activities such as hiking, canoeing etc.
I would like to encourage NSEF as well as any local equestrian groups to use this calendar as a fund raising opportunity. NSEF is able to purchase them thru NS Trails at a cost of $5 per calendar. The suggested selling price is $10.00 – many local retail outlets are selling the calendars at a cost of $11.95 + HST. They can also be used as a small token of appreciation to trail supporters in your community. Perhaps we could also add this to an upcoming NSEF Newsletter?!?!?!
To order the 2006 calendars, contact the NS Trails office. Pre-payment is requested, so a cheque may be sent payable to NS Trails Federation along with your order. If anyone has any difficulty contacting the NS Trails office, please let me know and I will certainly contact them for you. If picking up the items that you order is a difficulty, please let me know and I will help your group make arrangements to receive their calendars. Happy Sales!!!
